Pomegranate martini is just 3 ingredients and makes a bold, beautiful and delicious martini for sipping.

It's apparently going to be martini month here on the blog. It's December, it's the holidays and I don't know, it's just a fitting way to end 2020, don't you think?
I recently shared my lemon drop martini and peppermint martini recipes. And I love a classic white Russian this time of year.
Between my mom and I experimenting and sharing and clipping and saving recipes, I've long had a stash of cocktails and martinis and drinks that we've made over the years.
So I've been trying to share more with you and here we are, a martini month of sorts!
Today is an old favorite of mine: the classic pomegranate martini.
It's bold, beautiful and makes for some easy sipping.

Pomegranates are such a gorgeous winter fruit, and this martini seems like the perfect thing to drink through the holidays and in the cold winter months to come.
Plus, you just need 3 ingredients:
- Vodka
- Pomegranate juice
- Cointreau (or other orange liqueur)
Very easy. Very quick. Very delightful.
OK, let's get to mixing.

Recipe Notes:
Vodka: You'll want a good quality vodka for this, as with any martini, because the flavor comes out. Pro tip: It shouldn't smell like rubbing alcohol.
Liqueur: Cointreau is my favorite for this martini, but you could substitute triple sec or another orange-flavored liqueur if you prefer.
Juice: I use bottled pomegranate juice (such as the Pom brand). If you are using fresh juice from a pomegranate, you may need a little simple syrup to sweeten up this martini.
The measurements in the recipe card below make a well-balanced martini. However, everyone has different tastes, so if you'd like to adjust this (add more vodka or Cointreau for instance), feel free!
This makes a hefty single serving - just my style - but please keep that in mind and remember to drink responsibly.
Oh, and of course, if you want to make multiples, just up the quantities. A martini for you - and you - and you!
(Most martini shakers can easily hold several martinis worth.)
I'm not typically in the habit of garnishing my drinks when it's just us here at home night after night (after night after night…), but you can certainly dress these up.

Garnish Ideas:
- A lemon twist
- Some pomegranate arils
- A small orange wedge or wheel
- Or even a sugared rim
Whatever tickles your fancy!
So if you love pomegranate juice, pomegranate drinks or just pomegranate flavors, this martini is for you.
Cheers to you and to a safe and happy holiday season!
XO,
Kathryn
